    How you became involved in the sport? Swimming and cross-country back-ground at school then selected in QAS Talent Search squad in 2002 and haven’t looked back since!

    Achievements: Australian U/23 Elite team for World Champs 2007 and ‘08. Australian Junior National Series Champion 2006.

    Career high: Despite my race turning out horribly wrong, competing for Australia for the first time at a World Championships in Hamburg 2007 was a huge buzz with the streets lined with hundreds of thousands screaming fans and something I will never forget.

    Career low: Missing World Junior Champs in 2006 due to injury.

    Greatest sporting influence: Mum and Dad.

    Sportspeople Most Admired: Lance Armstrong, Simon Whitfield, Courtney Atkinson, Simon Thompson, Michael Klim, Roger Federer.

    Short Term Goals: Qualify for Australian U23 Team for Gold Coast ITU World Champs 2009; compete well in upcoming ‘Young Guns’ tour through Korea, Italy and Czech Republic; win/podium at Gold Coast U23 ITU World Champs.

    Long Term Goals: Win Gold at the Olympics; keep competing at a high level all over the world for many years to come, hopefully gaining a number of World Cup and World Champ series podiums; win a World Championship; become World Number 1; and keep learning and getting faster and stronger every year and continuing to enjoy the lifestyle and challenges.

    Advice for others: Believe in yourself no matter that. Do not let anyone tell you that you can’t do something.

    Hobbies and interests: Music, movies, the beach, tennis, AFL, cards, BBQ’s with friends.

    Personal strengths: Determination, focus and drive.

    Personal weaknesses: Impatience, sometimes I get to frustrated too easily.

    Personal likes: Strawberries, chocolate, travelling and learning about other cultures.

    Personal dislikes: Negativity, smoking.

    Dream job outside triathlon: Pro tennis player, pro poker player or front man for a boy band!
